A WAY FORWARD STARTS HERE

Compulsive sexual behavior and betrayal trauma are often far more complex than they first appear. What can look like a behavior issue or relationship crisis usually involves deeper, interconnected patterns that are difficult to untangle without a clear framework. Lasting change requires more than insight or support alone. It requires a structured, evidence-based approach that can stabilize the situation, clarify what’s happening, and create a deliberate path forward.

That is the focus of my work.

SPECIALIST IN SEX ADDICTION & BETRAYAL TRAUMA RECOVERY

Welcome. My name is Hayley Leishman, I’m a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT), specializing in helping individuals navigate the complex impact of compulsive sexual behaviors and betrayal trauma.

My work is grounded in the understanding that both addiction and trauma are deeply human experiences and not moral failings. Whether you’re struggling with unwanted sexual behaviors or coping with the pain of betrayal, therapy offers a structured, compassionate path toward clarity, stability, and healing.

I provide a safe, confidential space where we can address the underlying patterns driving these experiences, rebuild trust (in yourself and in relationships), and develop practical tools for long-term recovery. My approach is evidence-based, trauma-focused, and tailored to your unique story. Learn more about me and my approach here.

You don’t have to navigate this alone. Healing is possible with the right support.  Click the link below to start on your path to recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

I work with adults who are struggling with all types of addiction. Whether you are struggling with substance misuse, problematic sexual behaviors (sex addiction, pornography addiction, love addiction), or any other addictive behaviors, I have extensive experience and training to help you finally find freedom from your addiction. I also treat all types of trauma including betrayal trauma, childhood abuse and neglect, sexual trauma, and complex PTSD.

YES! Sex positivity is an extremely important aspect of my work as a certified sex addiction therapist (CSAT). Problematic sexual behavior (sex addiction and pornography addiction) is COMPLEX and NUANCED. As a CSAT, I am exceptionally skilled at detangling cultural and religious shame, sexual trauma, and compulsive sexual behavior. Accurate assessment followed by appropriate treatment planning is central to recovery from sex addiction - healthy sexuality and sex positivity are at the core of the recovery process.

Additionally, I am LGBTQ+ safe and affirming. All are welcome here.

No, I am an out-of-network (OON) provider, meaning I am not contracted with any insurance companies. However, I partner with Mentaya to help check your out-of-network benefits. If you have OON benefits, you’ll pay for the therapy session upfront. Afterward, I will submit a 'superbill' to your insurance company, and they will reimburse you directly for a percentage of the session fee. Depending on your insurance that could range anywhere from 50% to 80% of the session fee. Usually a deductible has to be met first. Please contact your insurance company directly to find out more about your out-of-network benefits.

$155 for a 50 minute session, $232 for an 80 minute session. I offer a free 30 minute video or phone consultation visit where you can ask questions, get a feel for my personality, and determine if I am the right therapist for you! You can schedule that HERE.

This is a tough question to answer because every client is unique and has different goals for therapy. My goal is to help you navigate the challenges that brought you here with confidence and ease, as quickly as possible, but at a pace that feels comfortable for you. If you’re new to therapy and working through complex trauma, it may take longer than if you’ve been in therapy before and are looking to get unstuck or back on track. As we begin working together and I get a better idea of your unique circumstances we can explore a timeline for therapy duration.

I take a client-centered and holistic approach to therapy. The specific interventions I use will be customized for your specific needs. I have found that using a mix of EMDR, IFS, and somatic work (Polyvagal Theory) can be extremely effective when working with trauma and addiction. Yes, our sessions are completely confidential with a few exceptions. The first is Utah law states that I am required to report any suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or vulnerable adult. I am also required to take action (notify law enforcement) if someone is at risk for harming themselves or others. Additionally, if you request that I share information about your treatment with another person (ie a partner or another healthcare provider), I require written consent (release of information) to do so.

Cancellations and re-scheduled sessions will be subject to a full charge if not received at least 24 hours in advance. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you. If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time.
